Garage rock enthusiasts, brace yourselves for the triumphant return of the notorious Drunk Mums after a four-year hiatus. The Melbourne-based band is back with their latest single, ‘Livin' at Night,’ a raw and rebellious anthem from their recently released fourth studio album, ‘Beer Baby.’ In this exclusive interview, we dive into the making of ‘Livin’ at Night,’ exploring the song's origins, its infectious energy, and how it sets the tone for ‘Beer Baby’. Join us as we chat with Drunk Mums guitarist and singer Jake Doyle

‘Livin' At Night' is described as a song that emerged quickly in the writing process. Can you delve into the inspiration behind the lyrics and elaborate on the phrase "living to get blotto on the weekends"? How does this mantra resonate with the overall theme of the song, and does it reflect personal experiences or observations?

This song emerged quite natually starting with guitars and drums for the feel and rambling over the top till I get something hooky. Me and my friends are full on night owls on the weekends and really enjoy time spent drinking and partying with close friends so guys the songs about that . Nothing really deep to unpack here, just good times.

The songwriting process for 'Livin' At Night' involved a quick turnaround on May 3rd, 2020. How did the circumstances of that day or the broader context of the world at that time influence the energetic and rebellious nature of the track? Were there specific events or emotions that fueled the creative burst for this particular song?

I reckon Melbourne was locked down at the time so I had a lot of time on my hands and was getting great government support over that period, so it felt like my first ever paid holiday. So instead of going to work everyday I would write a track. Guess the track stems from being pent up and wanting to go out.

The forthcoming album, 'Beer Baby,' gives us ten relentless, no-holds-barred party anthems. How does 'Livin' At Night' set the tone for the overall sound and theme of the album, and are there any specific elements or experiences that tie the songs on the album together?

This is the first album that has one song writer. I wrote a lot over the last four years and have cut the fat to bring these ten to the table. Also we went into a high end studio this time as opposed to doing home jobs on our previous releases. Felt good to hand the recording side over to someone else so we could all focus on our playing.

Drunk Mums has a reputation for raucous live shows and has toured extensively across various countries. How do you envision the audience connecting with 'Livin' At Night' during live performances, and are there any memorable moments or reactions from past shows that particularly stand out to you regarding this song?

Yeah we’ve played it a few times already and it fits so well into the sets that I don’t think anyone even notices it's a new one lol. So yeah, it has a classic drunk mums sound to it which is good and on brand. Stoked to get touring again.

Finally we would be absolutely frothing if you were able to nominate 5 artists to our emerging garage rock and punk playlist ‘The Next Wave Playlist’

Their returm is a testament to the band's dedication to delivering the essence of a good time. Stay tuned for their upcoming tour, where you can witness firsthand the chaos and sincerity that make Drunk Mums a force to be reckoned with in the garage rock scene. The Wanted Gems: From Denver to the Australian outback, their third single, 'Scarf,' unravels the nuances of unrequited love

By Tsk Tsk

The Wanted Gems, an enchanting identical twin sister duo originally from Denver, bring angelic harmonies with fuzzy guitar tones. Inheriting a shared love of the Beatles from their grandfather, they've called the Australian outback home for a decade, thriving in Alice Springs and introducing us to local talents. The duo's third single, 'Scarf,' delivers a fuzzed-out, riff-laden, tongue-in-cheek exploration of unrequited relationships, highlighting their distinctive voice and creative expression.

From your upcoming single release ‘SCARF’, it's evident that your music delves into deeply personal experiences, in this song, the nuance of romantic relationships. Could you share more about how your upbringing, from Denver to the Australian outback, or how any other life experiences have influenced your music? Additionally, has songwriting always been your preferred method of expressing yourselves, and if so, how did it begin?

In our upbringing, music played a central role, thanks to our Baba, (our grandpa) who ignited our musical journey by taking us along to his band practices and introducing us to diverse genres. Growing up immersed in The Beatles' tunes, we learned the art of harmonizing. Upon moving to Australia at 12, we've called Alice Springs home for nearly 10 years. Our musical journey took a more active turn at 16 when we began performing at open mic nights, gradually transitioning to paid gigs. As our confidence grew, we realized that music was our true calling, prompting us to take our craft seriously and evolve into professional artists.

The vibrant music scene in Alice Springs, bustling with open mics and jam sessions, has been a nurturing ground. The supportive community has played a pivotal role in our musical development. Initially, our performances were covers, but it wasn't until age 16 that we ventured into crafting our own original material. The turning point was the creation of our first song, 'Trusted You,' which unveiled a powerful avenue for expressing deep emotions. Music has become our emotional language, allowing us to convey everything from sorrow to joy.

As identical twins, your harmonies are undoubtedly unique. Being so close as sisters must give you a creative advantage when working as a duo. How do your individual creative identities and individual personal experiences shape the dynamic of your music, or impact your creative process (ie songwriting)?

Being identical twins brings distinct advantages – our nearly identical voices seamlessly blend into a singular, harmonious sound when we sing together. The magic happens when we break into harmony, creating a unique and captivating musical experience. Collaborating on songwriting is a deeply honest process for us. If one of us isn't vibing with a particular sound, we openly communicate, fostering a dynamic where constructive feedback leads to refining and enhancing our work until it resonates with both of us.

Despite sharing a genetic bond, we embrace our individuality. Our personalities, styles, and life experiences diverge, bringing a rich diversity to our songwriting. When we each contribute to the creative process, our unique perspectives infuse the music with a broad range of emotions and relatable themes, offering listeners a captivating and varied musical journey.

Within your circle of musical friends and the Alice Springs music scene, could you highlight two other artists or bands that are on the cusp of making a significant impact? What about their music or style do you find compelling or innovative?

In Alice Springs, the close-knit community fosters a unique environment where many talented musicians, often playing for multiple bands, forge connections and explore diverse genres. A standout presence in the local scene is Katanga Junior, currently embarking on his inaugural interstate tour through WA and SA with his band including names of Joey Klarenbeek (Drummer), Darcy Davis (Keys), Latecia Boddey (Bassist), Emma Gerard (Vocalist), and Billy Black (Guitarist). Hailing from Tanzania and now calling Central Australia home, Katanga Junior infuses reggae and hip-hop elements into his music, creating an engaging and authentic sonic experience that never fails to enthrall audiences, compelling them to get up and dance.

In February 2024, he unveiled his latest musical masterpiece, 'Pamoja,' a seven-track celebration of life in Mparntwe/Alice Springs. The album is a collaborative effort, featuring a constellation of established and emerging artists from Central Australia, including Stuart Joel Nuggets, Kirra Voller, Tristrum Watkins from Karnage N Darknis, Casii Williams, Myles Turner, and Shilo Monkland, all contributing as guest vocalists. Katanga Junior's 'Pamoja' not only captivates with its dynamic fusion of sounds but also stands as a testament to the rich and diverse talent thriving within Alice Springs.

As you reflect on your recent career highlights, from performing all over Australia and releasing your 3rd new single, “Scarf”, how do these experiences inform your aspirations and goals for shaping your music and the impact you aim to make on your audience in the future? What can fans expect at your live shows? Any specific elements or surprises? Also, could you share some upcoming touring dates and locations for fans eager to catch The Wanted Gems in action?

Reflecting on our musical journey thus far, we take immense pride in our achievements and eagerly anticipate the continuous evolution. As independent musicians on the rise, the increasing accessibility of our music to a wider audience fuels our belief that our stories and messages embedded in our songs will resonate and grow over time. Our ultimate aspiration is to become full-time musicians, traversing the globe, gracing festivals, and embarking on memorable tours.

Anticipate a melodic blend of unique harmonies, deeper insights into our original compositions, and the unveiling of fresh music at our upcoming shows. Our performances come in two distinctive flavors – an intimate acoustic duo experience and a lively, expansive showcase with a full band.

Catch us in action around Alice Springs, where we're constantly gigging, and stay tuned for exciting announcements as we've applied for shows and festivals – updates are on the horizon!

Luja Murfi Premieres 'Tide of Time': A Deeper Dive

We’re honoured to unveil the premiere of Luja Murfi's latest single and video, 'Tide of Time.' The band recently took a seat with us to unravel the song's conception, sharing insights into the production process and inspiration behind the live recording and video performance at Nowave Studio in Mullumbimby Creek . Additionally, they nominated 'Mirror Mirror' and 'Brain Electric' for inclusion in 'The Next Wave' playlist.

In creating Tide of Time, can you share insights into the production process, the songwriting journey, and the deeper meaning behind the track?

Like most Luja Murfi songs 'Tide of Time' evolved from a demo originally created by our musical wizard Miles Morel. The song was brought forth to the full band setting where we draw upon and dissect our parts, jam it out and refine the structure into a more complete song.

With the addition of the swelling synthesizer and Luke Morel's enchanting vocals, the song began to traverse us into a beautiful space, rich in texture and melody which has your spirit leaving the body behind whilst the drive and deep groove of the rhythm section keeps you tethered to the earth.

Luke's lyrics reflect the instrumental so well, which gives the song such a sincere and evocative sensation.

The deeper meaning behind them, which is always open to interpretation, is somewhat of a prayer to the Ether and an opening to the guidance of inspiration in accordance to one's highest and most virtuous path. A surrender to source if you will. As with most of our lyrics we hope to inspire people from that which inspires us and that is the untainted, unimaginably infinite source of creation.

Your sound has been described as a fusion influenced by artists like  L'eclair, Khruangbin and Mac DeMarco. In the creation of ‘Tide of Time’ Are there specific elements from their music that you consciously incorporate or respond to in your own creative process? Tell us about the moment in the process that you step back and feel that you’ve created a Luja Murfi release?

Although we have a vast range of influences that we admire for their sound, energy or expression there isn't anything specifically that we incorporate.

There's definitely been some tonal inspiration drawn from L'eclair and Mildlife in particular, this being our first recorded song with synth we love the type of atmosphere it creates and evokes and how it best serves and supports the music in the mix.

Our process is very much intentional in creating a sound that is authentic, sincere and something we would truly have fun playing together that also expresses the flavours of music we love and enjoy listening to.

There are many paths you can take in the process of writing a song and where the sound may take you. We like to explore a lot of our options and sometimes you are led either consciously or subconsciously towards your influences, though you always end up finding exactly what best serves and honours the music for the feeling and energy it calls for.

Within your circle of musical friends and the Gold Coast music scene, could you highlight two other artists or bands that are on the cusp of making a significant impact? What about their music or style do you find compelling or innovative?

Mirror Mirror and Brain Electric.

Both bands are so incredible to witness live, such amazingly talented musicians and all round lovely human beings.

Mirro Mirror has such funky, soulful and nostalgic songwriting and Brain Electric harnessing the exciting elements of improv & jazz fusion.

Each of these acts stand out in their own right, energetic performers with fun and engaging sound, sharing a sincere disposition and a deep love for music.

Would highly recommend looking further into their crafts and get the chance to see them at a live show.

What can fans expect at your live shows? Any specific elements or surprises? Also, could you share some upcoming touring dates and locations for fans eager to catch Luja Murfi  in action?

Showgoers of the realms can expect to be put in a spellbinding trance if you listen intently. We very much love to try and keep the sound flowing seamlessly and let the music do the talking, whilst we summon the energy within and among ourselves and project that out into the audience.

Emamanating an amalgamation of hypnotic jam sections, power infused melodies, mystical grooves and enchanting vocal harmonies.

There's some plans in the works to get back in the Nowave Studio with Julian Abbott and continue recording our debut album. With a couple of shows coming up over the next few months yet to be announced.

Liquid Contours Unveils Psychedelic 'Colours' Video - Exclusive Premiere

By Tsk Tsk

Tsk Tsk are honored to bring you an exclusive chat with Colby as we unveil the mesmerizing premiere of Liquid Contours' latest single and video, 'Colours.' In this intimate conversation, Colby shares behind-the-scenes insights into the song's creation, the production process, and the deeper meanings woven into the track. Additionally, he sheds light on the captivating visuals of the video, where he finds himself surrounded by sunflowers and immersed in psychedelic in-camera effects. Not to be missed are Colby's nominations for Gimmy and Girl and Girl to The Next Wave playlist, adding an extra layer of excitement to this premier showcase. Join us as we delve into the kaleidoscopic world of 'Colours' and the artistic vision of Liquid Contours.

In creating 'Colours', can you share insights into the production process, the songwriting journey, and the deeper meaning behind the track?

We were renting this Airbnb near Byron close to where we were playing the Flaming Hearts Festival in April, which also happened to coincide with my birthday. But the Airbnb had this big shed that had been set up to host a jam space, so we were mucking around in there and practicing for our set when our guitar player Tom started playing this chord progression and as usual everyone jumped on and we moved past it. But the chords really stuck with me. I got him to show them to me again a few days later and pretty much within a day after that I had a demo ready. It just snowballed.

The feeling of the song to me was really bright and colourful and the word colours kept just replaying in my head over and over again. When a song gets like that, it’s hard to let go, so I wanted to start recording it straight away. I took it to Kyle who ive been recording an EP with and told him that one song was getting pushed somewhere else and we had to make room for this one.

As with most of the other songs on this forthcoming EP ‘A Sunny Place’, the production process is shared between Kyle and I. I come in with the basis of the track then we’ll both tack on ideas as we record and evolve the track together.

"Colours" is an ode to the vibrant tapestry of hues that paint our world. This song invites listeners on a journey through the kaleidoscope of emotions and experiences that colours evoke in our everyday lives. The track is a testament to my fascination with the way colours breathe life into our existence, stirring emotions and memories, and shaping our perceptions. We’ve attempted to capture the essence of how colours enrich our daily moments.

Your sound has been described as a fusion influenced by artists like Pond, Tame Impala, and Mac DeMarco. In the creation of 'Colours'? Are there specific elements from their music that you consciously incorporate or respond to in your own creative process? Tell us about the moment in the process that you step back and feel that you’ve created a Liquid Contours release?

At the time of writing this I think I was actually listening to a lot of Mac Demarco (more than usual) as well as artists like Babe Rainbow, GUM, Drugdealer and others. I think what you’re listening to naturally seeps in and correlates directly or indirectly into what you write at the time. I think I definitely lean towards certain artists when I’m going for a particular vibe or feeling. Although I do remember at one point saying I wanted that “Mac Demarco-ey” tone on a guitar track.

It seems to be the case that there’s always a point in the writing process where I hit a bit of a road block. And all the construction goes on hold. Once that gets figured out, everything else just clicks and falls into place and then all of a sudden it’s a song. It feels like a Liquid Contours song when I excitedly show my shitty GarageBand iPhone demo to my girlfriend or brother. That’s when we really start cooking with gas.

Within your circle of musical friends and the South East Queensland music scene, could you highlight two other artists or bands that are on the cusp of making a significant impact? What about their music or style do you find compelling or innovative?

Gimmy and Girl and Girl are absolutely killing it right now! Both of these bands not only have just a super unique flair to their music and live presence but are absolutely putting in the hours and working their asses off and it’s paying off. I’m seeing both their names everywhere and am super stoked for them.

They both have really great lyrical content, feels super real and then both their live shows are just so fun and have so much character. They stand out at festivals as a must see for sure

Finally you have been writing overseas with an EP on the horizon, tell us a little bit about your visions for the future?

Yeah so I just recently moved over for a stint in Canada which has put a little halt on the live aspect of the project. However, before I left I was able to record A Double EP split into two parts ‘A Sunny Place’, ‘For Shady People’. ‘A Sunny Place’ will include the featured new single ‘Colours’ as well as reworked versions of older singles ‘Golden Hour’ and ‘Inside you’. The EP will also feature two new unreleased tracks and should be due for release in the next coming couple of months.

‘For Shady People’ is still being polished up but we could be seeing a single from that one very soon as well and it features a few songs that we were playing live a lot earlier last year. So plenty of exciting things to come!

With this mesmerizing backdrop, Colby shares his excitement for the forthcoming EP, 'A Sunny Place,' promising fans an immersive journey into a world where music and visuals intertwine seamlessly. The beautiful and evocative video for 'Colours' is not just a glimpse into the present but a harbinger of Liquid Contours' visionary future, where aesthetics and sound converge. Keep an eye out for the upcoming releases, as Liquid Contours continues to paint the canvas of their musical world.

Rowena Wise Unveils 'Nobody’s Saviour' in Next Wave Playlist:

Featuring Luminaries Clea, Alexander Gow, and More

By Tsk Tsk

Rowena Wise, delving into her latest single ‘Nobody’s Saviour,’ highlighted kindred talents CLEA, Alexander Gow, and Winten, tipping them for The Next Wave Playlist. Throughout our conversation, she uncovered the emotional layers of her music and shared intriguing insights into collaborating with producer Robert Muiños (known for his work with Didirri, Julia Jacklin, and Little May)

Tsk Tsk: Your music has a raw and organic sound, capturing the essence of live performance. Could you share a bit about the creative process behind 'Nobody’s Saviour' and how working with Robert Muiños at Rat Shack Studio influenced the production and writing of this track?

Rowena: Working with Rob Muiños at the Ratshack was really fun. It was a new experience for me to track the song with a live band, bringing the song to life by locking into a groove and embracing immediacy, and with such talented players too. I recorded with my acoustic through a Vox amp and there was an analogue space echo delay on the drums, as well as my vocals. Rob managed to make a really expansive sound with the production, which I loved because we were tracking in these cosy small ex-19th century hotel rooms. Rob knew how to capture a dreamy and melancholic vibe, whilst keeping some grit and clarity. Matt Dixon added a layer of pedal steel to the song that you can’t quite hear but you can feel, it really gave it a bent sort of kind of sadness that I was after. To me it feels like someone is gently accepting defeat and it’s time to retreat.

Tsk Tsk: Nobody’s Saviour' explores the complexities of misplaced heroism in relationships. Could you delve into how this single fits into the broader narrative of your musical journey and the themes you've explored in your previous work?

Rowena: I write a lot of songs about disconnection. I find some things hard to say, it’s easier to express with music. I feel like Nobody’s Saviour is about disconnection with reality, with your own wants and needs. I saw friends (mostly female) allowing themselves to be drawn into the role of nurturing other’s pain and insecurities, when they had a lot to work on themselves. They put others first though. Love makes you do that. To me it’s unacceptable. You have to look after yourself as well as others around you. Sometimes that requires hearing hard truths, hearing that you’re not some superhero, hearing that you need help. Perspective requires distance from the thing, sometimes.

Tsk Tsk: You've collaborated with Didirri on 'Tea Stains' and supported the likes of G Flip, Didirri, Kira Puru, Little May and Bernard Fanning just to name a few. In your circle of musical friends, who are a couple of other artists you'd like to nominate to include in the Next Wave Playlist?

Rowena: I want to nominate Clea, she’s my favourite indie dream pop powerhouse. Love her writing, and the way she expresses herself is really grounded yet floaty at the same time. It's so beautiful and feels a little psychedelic. Alex Gow’s latest album ‘Dizzy Spell’, I had the pleasure of playing violin on it - I swear I’m not bias I just love this album. It was all recorded to tape and it has a really timeless vibe, the writing carves something gently in me. Winten also must be included in the Next Wave playlist, she writes really catchy heartfelt songs that just grab you.

Tsk Tsk: Your live performances are known for their dynamic energy. Where can we catch you performing ‘Nobody’s Saviour’ next?

Rowena: I’ll be touring with Nobody’s Saviour in February, which I’m so excited about! It’ll be a mix of band and solo shows, which I love. It’s cool to renew the meaning of songs with different ways of delivering them. There’s a lot of new songs I’d like to share, so this will be fun.

Check back for tour dates and ticket links on Monday 11th..

Alongside Rowena Wise, this handpicked lineup highlights a diverse range of emerging talents, such as Clea, Iluka, Rinse, Blessed, Alexander Gow, Grace Woodroofe, among many more. In the coming days and weeks, we'll dive into each artist's unique journey, unraveling their music, narratives, and undeniable promise propelling them to the forefront. Stay tuned for the Next Wave.

Rum Jungle Unveils 'Electric Snowman' in Next Wave Playlist:

Featuring Rising Stars Dust, Jacotene, and More

By Tsk Tsk

Rum Jungle, the electrifying quartet known for their infectious beats and unstoppable live energy, recently unveiled their latest single, "Electric Snowman." The band sat down to discuss their creative process and the vibes behind this track, all while extending nods to their nominated artists, Dust and Jacotene, for inclusion in the Next Wave Playlist.

Tsk Tsk: The energy in 'Electric Snowman' is infectious. What was the creative process like while crafting this track, and how did you strive to capture that high-octane live experience in the studio?

Benny: This one just started off with a few chords after Benny spent some time writing with one of his brothers. It was a more chilled song originally then when we all got together to jam it, it just got all this energy with Frazers drums and Majes dirty stinkin bass. Once we got in the studio it only went bigger and the main thing we wanted to make sure we did was to not lose any momentum in the song which we can be prone to doing with some of our tunes.

Tsk Tsk: Rum Jungle has been absolutely smashing it—from selling out shows in Australia to lighting up BIGSOUND and SXSW! What secret sauce or mystical ingredient do you think Rum Jungle brings to the stage that keeps fans hyped up and coming back for more, whether it's at a sold-out gig or a massive showcase event?

Benny: We’re just four lads having fun together. We’ll add extra moments into a gig and try and make it something special but at the end of the day it’s fully just four best mates having a jam together and there luckily happens to be a few hundred people who wanna come to the party. Otherwise I guess we’d pride ourselves on having a pretty massive range of songs, from Electric snowman to Sure Fire a solo acoustic song our drummer Fraz performs.

Tsk Tsk: Within your circles, which 2-3 artists do you think are simmering on the edge of greatness? Who's writing fantastic tunes or putting on mind-blowing shows that the world needs to know about immediately?

Benny: Within Australia that’s a pretty hard question hey. Honestly could get you a pretty massive list but if I had to narrow it down to just two I’d probably say Dust who’re our mates from Newcastle Aus and they’re already making waves globally. Then there’s Jacotene who I don’t know personally but watch how huge she gets in the next few years, a true new talent out of Aus.

Alongside Rum Jungle, this curated selection showcases an array of burgeoning talents, including The Terry’s, Le Shiv, Juno, Rowena Wise, Apricot Ink, Gut Health, and numerous others. In the days and weeks ahead, we'll delve deeper into these artists' journeys, exploring their sounds, stories, and the undeniable potential that propels them toward the brink. Sun-Kissed Harmonies: JUNO Unveils 'Sunburn,' Infusing 90s Nostalgia and Collaborative Artistry; Spotlight on Jude York, The Dandy’s, and Jude Korab

By Tsk Tsk

JUNO unveils the intricacies of their latest single, 'Sunburn,' a fusion of seamless production and poignant storytelling reminiscent of 90s dance music. With a nod to acts like Len, the duo imbues a contemporary essence into their sound. Juno candidly shares about the collaborative journey behind the track's creation, detailing the numerous iterations that led to its final form. With subconscious influences from the '90s interwoven into the music, the result is a compelling blend of warmth and subtle darker undertones, mirroring the complexities of entering a toxic relationship. Additionally, JUNO takes a moment to shine a spotlight on Jude York, recognized for exceptional songwriting and live prowess, alongside The Dandy’s and Jude Korab, all integral figures enriching the burgeoning music landscape.

Tsk Tsk: The production on 'sunburn' is both vibrant and crisp with this awesome sundrenched washed out vocal. It gives nods to 90’s Dance acts like Len but with a totally unique and modern twist. Could you share a bit about the collaborative process behind creating this track and how you navigated the balance between its upbeat sound and the deeper lyrical themes?

Juno - Ooh I love that! 'Steal My Sunshine' is such a banger. The production on 'sunburn' has been through a lot of evolutions and I think we wrote like, 6 verses before we landed on the final one. It was a process! Sam and I are very influenced by music of the 90s because that's what we grew up on, and I think you can really hear it bleed into the final version - pretty subconsciously in this one though honestly. And I like that that's how it goes sometimes with your art & music - your subconscious or your mood or your thoughts that day etc. will subtly bleed into what you're creating. On that note though, a lot of what we'll be releasing next year will be leaning even harder into that 90s sound. We've also really loved playing with juxtaposition in our music and visuals this year & 'sunburn' was really the epitome of that. I like when art has an unexpected twist. We wanted this song to sound warm & bright and mask the darker undertone of the lyrics to match the misinterpreted feeling and journey of entering a toxic relationship.

Tsk Tsk: You are both creative powerhouses in your own right, tell us about your meeting of minds and creative process?

Juno: I think the reason JUNO works so well is that Sam and I each have very different strengths that complement the other. Sam is an amazing producer and arranges our live show, and I top-line our songs as well as contribute more to JUNO's aesthetic and social media presence. We make a really strong team and our ability to communicate and understand one another just gets better and better with every year that passes.

Tsk Tsk: You’re hailing from the vibrant Meanjin/Brisbane music scene. Who are a couple of fellow musicians or bands you've recently come across that you believe are on the brink of making a significant impact?

Juno: The Dandy's (@thedandysband) for sure! They're amazing songwriters and their live show is impeccable. We're also big fans of Jude York (@judeyork) who we're going on tour with this month and also Jude Korab (@judekorab) who we released a song with a few months ago - huge fans of his songwriting & prod. Couple of Judes haha! The Meanjin scene is so good though, such a great musical community.

Tsk Tsk: With a mix of headline shows and National support tours with the likes of Peking Duk and Pacific Avenue under your belt, you're about to hit the road again? Tell us a little bit about your live show where you merge sounds from both the stage and studio?

Juno: I think our live show is very energetic and empowering. On stage is where I feel like the happiest, strongest version of myself and I think that's definitely reflected in the energy of our live show. We typically play with a 4 or 5 piece, featuring our sax player Ash Hutton, and he always pops off! Everyone loves him. We've had a massive year of touring and the band is sounding tighter than ever. They're also our best friends/housemates so we're really lucky to get to make sure with those guys.

Alongside Juno, this curated selection showcases an array of burgeoning talents, including The Terry’s, Le Shiv, Sesame Girl, Rowena Wise, Apricot Ink, Gut Health, and numerous others. In the days and weeks ahead, we'll delve deeper into these artists' journeys, exploring their sounds, stories, and the undeniable potential that propels them toward the brink.
