After a powerful set at Dreamtime at the ‘G alongside heavyweights like Briggs, Paul Kelly, and Barkaa, Naarm/Melbourne-based artist and proud Gamilaroi man The Terrifying Lows (aka Tyler Millott) unveils his bold new single, ‘Inside Your Hive’.

Marking a distinct departure from the brooding alt-rock of his 2021 self-titled debut, ‘Inside Your Hive’ finds Millott trading grit for groove. Channeling the swagger of the Madchester scene—imagine Happy Mondays through a sleek, modern lens—the track blends hypnotic rhythms, lush guitar textures, and a vocal performance that walks the tightrope between emotional cool and wounded introspection.

Written, recorded, and produced by Millott himself, the single explores the trap of unbalanced desire: the disillusionment that creeps in when you realise you’re chasing an idea of someone, not the real thing. “It’s about that moment when you realise you’re giving more than you’re getting,” he explains.

Mixed by The Delta Riggs’ Alex Markwell, the track’s production is rich with detail—rhythmic basslines, dreamy layers, and a late-night haze that’s as danceable as it is devastating.

‘Inside Your Hive’ builds on the momentum Millott has cultivated since his debut, which featured ‘Waiting for the Sun’—a finalist in the Vanda and Young Global Songwriting Competition—and live supports for the likes of Dan Sultan, Hayley Mary, and Cam Muncey.
