Your upcoming single 'Dangerous' delves into your signature fusion of R&B, Pop, and Dark Funk. Can you walk us through the production process of 'Dangerous'? What was the writing process like, and what deeper meaning does this track hold for you?
I started with the lyrics as always, i tend to write first and than think about the rest of the production later as my music is always a story or an expression of myself i always see that as the best starting point. I was going through a dilemma with a lover, i wanted her but she had a partner already. The relationship was toxic and i could see that she wasnt happy, so this is the story of how i felt in that moment trying to deal with all my emotions. After that i went to MattyMadeIt to get the instrumentals down and by the end of the session we had the track laid out.
You’ve mentioned your diverse musical influences and your journey into sonic experimentation. What were the key inspirations and influences behind 'Dangerous,' and how have these shaped your unique sound?
I wanted this track to sound like a 80s pop hit so we went with the synthwave sound mixed with a funky cadence as inspiration, drawing influence from Michael Jackson and Tory Lanez for the old school and modern sound.
In your circle of musical friends especially within the Gold Coast scene, who are two other artists you believe are on the cusp of great things, and why do you think they have that potential?
I have had alot of inspiration from KOOLZ and her sound recently, her music is very bubbly and unique. I believe she will go very far with her music and outgoing personality. Another artist that will always be on my list is MAD WXRLD, the way she portrays emotion through her music is top teir. I think that she will do great things with her sound and make it very far.
When you’re not making music, what might we find you doing? How do these activities influence your creativity?
I like to workout and play basketball in my free time, i believe exercise is big part of clearing your head and keeping the creativity flowing. If im not doing that im probably eating, I like my food.
You've performed at venues like The Wolly Mammoth, Home of The Arts (HOTA), Micasa, and Empire. Where can we catch you live next, and what else is on the horizon for you in 2024?
Shows aren't on my priority list at the current moment as im still working on my new sound and set list but if i were to get offers around Australia i wouldn’t be fully closed off to the idea, I would love to do a festival but right now im focused on building my team.
