Why We Need To Do Yoga Even When Relaxing on

Holidays

When life gets too hard to handle, yoga never fails to relieve tension, reduce stress and make for greater wellness. Besides the physical benefits of this ancient practice, there’s also a sense of satisfaction that comes with feeling your joints stretch and your muscles relax into a child's pose at the end of a session. After a year of anxiety in the city there’s nothing like getting back in touch with your core and letting go of all of that built up tension.

Yoga is a physical and mental discipline that can be practised by anyone, regardless of age, shape, or size. Yoga is a great way to reduce stress and learn about oneself. As a discipline that has existed for thousands of years, yoga continues to be practiced by people all over the world. Yoga is a great way to boost your immune system, improve flexibility, reduce stress levels and increase energy levels.

But the many benefits of doing yoga extend well beyond the physical and it’s not just good for your body but also your mind. Yoga helps you to relax and find peace in your life. So, if you truly want to achieve the maximum recharge from your holiday you can super-charge your relaxation and fully re-energise yourself by adding some yoga to your trip.

How Much Yoga Practice Should I Do Whilst On Holiday?

Byron Bay is a beautiful place with fabulous beaches, incredible food and a lingering hippy influence that creates the perfect vibe to practice not only yoga but also other spirit enhancing techniques like meditation and mindfulness. How much yoga you do is up to you. Remember, yoga is not a competitive sport and it’s up to your own individual desire as to how much you practice whilst on holidays in Byron. Yoga in

Byron Bay may mean a serious retreat for the experienced yogi or it might mean just a few sessions at one of the many lovely studios. Listen to your heart and be aware of your needs rather than forcing yourself to live up to some level of practice that may not be right for you right now.

Yoga In The Tropics

Depending on your type of practice, the time of year and type of studio you visit, it can be quite steamy practising yoga in beautiful Byron Bay. The tropical climate, loved by some and less so by others, can make your practice challenging but also very rewarding.

If you elect for a fresh-air studio, you may like to practice in the morning or evening when the temperature and humidity are lower, which will help your body stay cooler. Make sure you bring a bottle of water to drink during your session and wear a yoga outfit that is cool and comfortable.

If you don’t want to deal with the heat there are also air-conditioned studio options that will make the experience more pleasant for you.

Yoga and Byron Bay is a match made in heaven and it’s the perfect holiday combination! Many different types of yoga, including Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Vinyasa are catered for so you’re sure to find something that suits your needs.

But There’s A Lot More to Byron Bay Than Just Yoga!

It’s not only the beaches and the surf that make Byron Bay a tourist destination. There’s amazing nightlife, shopping, entertainment and, of course, lots of delicious food. There is a hugely diverse range of restaurants and cafes, from fine dining to fast food andcovering virtually every cuisine you can think of.

No matter what your dietary requirements, or what tickles your tastebuds, you can find everything from a vegan cafe to fine dining. And of course, if you are looking for something more traditional, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants that serve up burgers, salads and pizza.

For food that complements yoga it’s hard to beat vegan or, if you’re after protein, seafood. Some of our post yoga banquet favourites include:

● For vegan: No Bones, Elixiba Byron Bay or The Cardamon Pod.

● For sushi: OSushi Restaurant or Street Sushi.

Happy Holidays and Enjoy Yoga In Byron!
